My Fiancé Had A Boil. We Went To The Doctor

My fiancé had a boil. We went to the doctor Sunday and got amoxicillian. The doctor thought it was a gland swollen.
Today my hubby has a sore throat and has gotten a fever and the boil burst. I tried to drain as much as I could but it hurts him and I cleaned and covered the area.
What should I do to help
