My Four Year Old Son Hasn't Been Feeling Too Well

My four year old son hasn't been feeling too well and has flue like symptoms. The thing I can't figure out it he's constantly biting and complaining about his tongue itching. What could It be? Oh and he's had hand food virus in the past don't think it's that.
