My Friend Has Been Admitted To A Hospital In Boston.

My friend has been admitted to a hospital in Boston. She was experiencing pain in her leg, she thought it was vascular. Turns out she had a blood clot and they found some masses on her abdomen. She found out she has cancer, but they do not know what kind yet. They are waiting for biopsy results to come back. How serious does this sound? She is a young mother, a teacher...very worried about her. Is there anything you can tell me about this condition?
I would appreciate any information.
