My Friend Is 21 Years Old ..he Had A Fall

My friend is 21 years old ..he had a fall from five storey building..medical reports tell he had substance abuse..he underwent epidural haematoma surgery..he has been discharged recently from hospital...can he go to college continue his studies??or he has to quit studies completely.??how long will it take him to recover???
