My Friend Is Having The 6 Weekly Treatments Of Bcg

My friend is having the 6 weekly treatments of bcg for bladder tumor treatment. He feels awful for 3 days after. Like the flu, I think. Would immune system support, nutritional supplements, interfere with the desired results of the treatment? What can he do to minimize his symptoms?
