My friend recently had L3/4 surgery. A few days later, went into atrial fibrillation, a past Dx. Then got the gout again. Was in ICU. Once released, was transferred to another facility for rehab. Also, was told he had CRE.
Since then, and shortly thereafter, he fell in the bathroom in his room and later the same day, he passed out in X-ray and fell onto his knee. CT Scan and MRI apparently negative, but gout returned. Injected again with steroid. Swelling down but not completely. Lyrica discontinued. In the interim, PT and OT started.
And, off and on again low grade fever, chills and sweats. He does not have a moment before or after therapy
where he is not in pain. Rx does not seem ample. A cyst and scar tissue were removed from the surgical area.
He is on a lot of medication. He had prior brain surgery and all went well. He supposedly has a small tumor in the upper back area.
What I want to know is beyond his back surgery with hardware and knowing his pain tolerance seems to be quite low, could there be another issue that needs to be addressed? I have never seen anyone with surgery
and receiving therapy in such pain and misery and questionable chills and sweats.
Thanks.
