My Girl Friend Was Bitten On The Leg By Something,

My girl friend was bitten on the leg by something, and the bite/wound was progressively getting bigger so a hospital trip diagnosed a bacterial infection.
She is not taking her antibiotics right,
(I've stressed to her the dangers of this, it's common sense) but is there any precautions i should take to avoid this bloodbourne pathogen?
