My girlfriend has been sick for 8 weeks now. We have been to the emergency room and 2 private doctors with no positive results. My girlfriend developed sores in her mouth and the emergency room said it was oral thrush and prescribed nystatin and mouth wash. This did nothing for her. The next doctor said he did not think it was oral thrush and he administered a shot of cortisone and prescribed a antibiotic. The cortisone worked almost immediately and my girlfriend was able to finally eat solid food but that only lasted about 5 days. The next doctor we visited, a ENT, gave her steroids and wants to do a biopsy next week. Thus far, this has cost us over 1000 dollars and she does not have insurance. Why can't these doctors conclude what the problem is? My girlfriend never had this problem, takes very good care of her teeth and body, is menopausal at this time, and we can't get an answer. She is not eating well and is losing weight. I don't know what to do. Any help or suggestion would be appreciated.
