My Girlfriend Is Taking Birth Control And I'm Worried That

My girlfriend is taking birth control and I'm worried that something went wrong. She got an irregular period and now her birth control schedule is off. She just finished her 28th pill today, ending the pack, but isn't supposed to recieve her period for another week. What does she do? Does she start a new pack tomorrow or does she wait until her period to start new?
