My Girlfriend Went To The Doctor Today And They Are

My girlfriend went to the doctor today and they are treating her for pneumonia. Her paper said bronchitis but her symptoms match up with pneumonia. Her fever was at 100.9 today but after she ate about 30 minutes ago she got home and took her temp under the tongue and said it was at 96.1 is this normal?
