My Granddaughter, Age 3 Has A Serious Finger Infection That

My granddaughter, age 3 has a serious finger infection that is very red and inflamed. She was given antibiotics 2 days ago by a doctor in a clinic. Her name is Scarlett and she sometimes sucks on her finger. Her parents just arrived from LA and need a pediatrician. I will help them get one. She is very uncomfortable and feverish.
I told my daughter that she needs a thermometer. Also, I think the finger should be soaked several times a day and she should mark the outline of the infection so as to see if it is growing. Scarlett cries about the amount of pain she is experiencing.

Please advise.

Its hard being me because Jessica is my daughter and doesn't want my advice.

It would not surprise me if Scarlett needs to have that wound opened. I think she should go to a pediatriian because they know children.
