My Grandson Has What Look Like Ringworms On Many Areas

My grandson has what look like ringworms on many areas of his body. His mom took him to the doctor. He was provided medication. Now his openings are running excessively. I mean it runs so bad until they have spread all over the back of his leg. What would be a good medication to use on a four year old. He has scratched his leg and not he has one on his ear and one in between his buttock.
