My Gyno Put Me On Birth Control 2 Weeks Ago

My gyno put me on birth control 2 weeks ago to stop my mid cycle bleeding. He also did a biopsy on my cervix that came back normal. How soon can I expect the birth control to start working on stopping the bleeding? Like I said I've been on it for two weeks and the bleeding seems worse then it was before.
