My Husband, 47, Had Diverticulitis Couldnt' Be Cured With Antibiotics,

My husband, 47, had diverticulitis couldnt' be cured with antibiotics, pain worsened, just had three surgeries in one week , two weeks ago , for ?Coloctomy. Is it rare to have to go back for the third surgery, seems odd. He had a leak they did second surgery to correct this, said there was none, two days later , took him back to open him up for leak again, did fix it, why three surgeries?
He is home after 17 days recupping, s l o w l y. Has the bag. Just seems awful.
