My Husband (age 51) Is Experiencing Sharp Pain In His

My husband (age 51) is experiencing sharp pain in his lower back. The pain is coming in spasms and he can't comfortably sit or stand. It came on a few hours ago when he was walking down a few stairs. He is very uncomfortable and cannot catch his breath due to the pain. Should I take him to urgent care or is there something I can do besides give him Advil and ice?
