My Husband, Age 79 And Handicapped, Barely Walks With A

My husband, age 79 and handicapped, barely walks with a walker, was put on tamsulosin about two months ago.
He has also been using a catheter for about 3 months. I'm told this will be a permanent solution to severe urinary incontinence.
Over the last month he has had loose bowels up to twice a day. Some of the side effects of this drug listed are diarrhea, low blood pressure, (his norm is low) and drowsiness. All he wants to do is sleep.
My question is, can I take him off of this drug?
