My Husband And I Were Playing With Our Dog And

My husband and I were playing with our dog and I accidentally poked/scratched him in the eye with my short fingernail. His eye is hurting and there is definitely a red spot that my fingernail touched. I know it is sensitive for him, but he insists that if he were a teenager on the basketball court he would be going back in the game. He is now able to open the eye and look around. Should we go to ER now? To Urgent Care tomorrow? To regular Ophthamologist on Monday? Please advise.
