My Husband Fell Backwards Down Two Cement Steps Because Of

My husband fell backwards down two cement steps because of bad balance and landed on his buns. He has been in the hospital for a week and the nursing home for three weeks. He compressed his Lumbar 2 vertebrae in his spine. The pain has lessened but he cannot stand on his legs and he has neorapathy in his feet. The feet are numb. He could walk when he went in the nursing home but cannot now. Are nerves pinched? Can he recover from this?
