My Husband Had A Catheter Ablation In 2014, A Monday.

My husband had a catheter ablation in 2014, a Monday. A few days after, his left foot seemed swollen and I encouraged him to check with the doctor. He wasn't concerned until the swelling did not recede. On the following Saturday, he called for the doctor and was told to go to the hospital. He was scheduled for a cardiac catheter process for Monday and he remained in the hospital over that weekend. My question is whether there should have been a cardiac catheter procedure done so soon after the heart ablation. Could other considerations been used to alleviate the swelling; such as, massaging and/or compression socks?
