My Husband Had A Ruptured Brain Aneurysm This Year At

My husband had a ruptured brain aneurysm this year at the age of 53. He had no medical problems and was other wise very healthy and fit. He has short term memory issues with some right side weakness and vision problems in one eye. I have 2 questions; can stokes shorten ones life span and can you get vascular dementia from brain injury. Thank you.
