My Husband Had A Thyroid Ultra Sound 2 Months Ago

My husband had a thyroid ultra sound 2 months ago and the thyroid was inflamed however they noted a growth on the right thyroid and now he has just had a further follow up and the growth on the right nodule has got bigger from 2.4 x 1.9 to 2.8 x 2.2. we are not sure if it is best to have the thyroid removed or just the growth on the right nodule what would you advise? he will be 58 in October
