My Husband Had Angioplasty In His Leg To Assist With

My husband had angioplasty in his leg to assist with a wound on his foot that wouldn’t heal. This procedure was done over a month ago and he continues to have severe shooting sharp pain in his leg that sometimes travels clear up to his thigh. The pain is getting worse and not better. He cannot get relief in sitting certain ways, walking or lying flat. He is loosing valuable sleep. What would you suggest he do. His vascular surgeon does not want to see him for 2 more weeks and told him the pain would eventually go away . Is there something else possibly going on or does the recovery time consist of ongoing severe pain..?
