My husband had been feeling like he had what he called a half of cold. He has been prescribed fluticisone for chronic Rhinitis , and he has been taking that for years, previous to that, other steroid nose sprays for many years.
A couple months ago, when Flonase came out OTC, we went with that to save money, as we now are basically self pay. He said it wasn't effective as the prescription kind, makes no sense since its the same active ingredient, so anyways, we paid more money and got the perception kind again.
Must be poor timing, because whatever he has is not going away. He has needed to use his Albuterol inhaler now more than he ever did. A week or so ago he blew a nasal polyp out of his nose( did not know what it was, neither did he, googled images)
Last week he went to walk-ins and the nurse practitioner said he had a sinus infection, prescribed a antibiotic. He has been on it for 3 1/2 days, and there is no relief. He has clear sinus drainage, no head pressure or fever.
He has a hard time in the late afternoons and evenings with coughing spells that keep him up at night, with no relief with the inhaler. He does not have a productive cough.
