My Husband Has A Large Soft Rubbery Lump Under His

My husband has a large soft rubbery lump under his armpit about the size of a golf ball. It's painless and he doesn't feel it when his arm is hanging down, but you sure notice it when he lifts his arm. It came on very quickly. No redness and he feels fine. What do you think it could be?
