My Husband Has A Small Wound With Packing In It.

My husband has a small wound with packing in it. It has been changed three times every two days. The last time was today. The Dr office can't get him back in until next Wednesday to change the packing again. Is a week too long to go without changing it? They said it is improving and it's not taking as much packing now.
