My Husband Has Been Experiencing Excruciating Muscle Leg Pain For

My husband has been experiencing excruciating muscle leg pain for quite a few weeks now in the back of his right leg which he initially thought was leg cramp. Whilst on holiday last week he had to go and see a doctor as he was in a lot of pain. On examination he was dignosed with having sciatica. Over a period of days he was give 4 injections. On Wednesday this week after returning home from Tenerife our doctor prescribed strong pain killer tablets but he is still in a lot of pain particularly in his calf area. He was told it could take up to 6 weeks to heal. What else can he take or do to ease the pain? He is also taking Ibruprofen.
