My Husband Has Been Having Pain In His Stomach (like

My husband has been having pain in his stomach (like someone hit him with their fist) He's very secretive but he said its been going on for 3 or 4 weeks. He hasn't thrown-up or had diahera. It hurts when he lays down so he's been sleeping in his chair. He went to the doctor thursday and they took blood but we haven't heard back yet. I know they think he's got acid reflex but he doesn't have any signs of this. He's not have alot of gas. I don't know whether to insist that he go to the ER or just wait until Monday. He's very stubborn and I'm not sure if I could get him to go. Should I be concerned?
