My Husband Has Been In The Woods Getting Ready For

My husband has been in the woods getting ready for deer season. Yes we have pulled those small ticks off the dogs and us. Three days ago hubby said he was begininng to just hurt all over and now he has joint pain , 100.7dregree fever and called in sick for work (only 4th time in 34 yrs). I used to work in dermatology and we always gave Doxy to anyone that had a tick bite etc. we live in SC. He has no rash but did start Doxy 100mg today. Does this sound like early Lyme or a Lymes like disease?
