My Husband Has Had Elbow Pain, Swollen, Red And Very

My husband has had elbow pain, swollen, red and very sensitive to the touch. It has been bothering him for about 1 week and came on very suddenly. I was wondering if it could be a bug bite or some type of infection. He has taken Ibuprofin for the pain. Is there something he can do to treat it at home?
