My Husband Has Had Pain On His Right Side Of

My husband has had pain on his right side of his torsco for over a week. It is very strong pain and then it subsides. Then it gets severe again and now the pain has also moved to his back. The pain never really leaves him it just subsides and then comes bsck with a vengenane. What is it and what can i do to make him comfortable. Pain killers dont work and he already takes morphine for a tree accident.
