My husband has severe acid reflux and accompanying rapid sometimes irregular heart beat and vomiting. He is now limited to eating only eggs, fat free refried beans on occasion, toast or corn bread. He has stopped drinking coffee but still drinks Pepsi, maybe one or two bottles a day. He is taking 20 mlg. of omeprazole in the evening a half an hour before he eats. He has been using the omeprazole off and on for quite a few years, this last time for about a year. Now when he eats, even while he is eating he gets the acid reflux, rapid heart beat and vomiting. Could the omeprazole be causing those problems. A doctor told him last week his heart is ok.
