My Husband Has Stage 4 Cancer And Our Insurance Company

My husband has stage 4 cancer and our insurance company only covers the drug Oxymorphone. He has two perscriptions for this drug, one is 5mg and one is 10mg. He is in a lot of pain. My question is , can he double his dosage of 10mg until I can contact his oncologist tomorrow or is that dangerous?
