My Husband Has Stage 4 Copd With Bulbous Emphysema. He

My husband has stage 4 copd with bulbous emphysema. He also has heart disease. He does still smoke, drinks every day, and takes pain pills.. around his stomach his skin is red and splotchy. His pelvic area (right below stomavh) is swollen and he says it hurts. What could be the cause of this? Also if he does t quit smoking, what are his chances of survival?
