My Husband Has Started A Bad Habit Of When He

My husband has started a bad habit of when he exhales he blows out and whistles. He had knee surgery a few months ago for a torn meniscus and will most likely have to have the other one done. He said he does this because he's in pain. Is this a sign of something going on or is this just a bad habit he has started.
