My Husband Has Tiny Sores On The Line That Separate

My husband has tiny sores on the line that separate his balls. on the scrotum, he says they are very painful that it makes walking uncomfortable and running impossible. i have also noticed some sores on my side as well, they are shiny and reddish. could we have infection?
