My Husband Is 84 Yrs Old Fell Broke Rib And

My husband is 84 yrs old fell broke rib and huge open wound, in hospital a week, and been home since with my changing his 3" by 3 1/2 " wound twice a day.. using gloves and mask, washing hands, using Lysol spray and wipes on everything.. he bad health long time... in hospital bed in living room for over 3 years....
question is can I attend family gatherings? am I a carried? wound nurse now dressing him with patch pad with silver on it to help heal better.
