My Husband Is 86+ Years Of Age With Arthritic Problems,

My husband is 86+ years of age with arthritic problems, numerous leg surgeries, etc. Rather suddenly he complained of his left leg, probably from back of his knee to upper thigh feeling swollen and achy. we have put ice packs on it. Is there something else we should be doing?
