My Husband Is A Truck Driver And Is Currently Out

My husband is a truck driver and is currently out on the road. He went to the ER last week with a fever, body aches, a headache, and fatigue. The doctors ran tests, but all they could tell him is that it is some kind of viral infection. He is supposed to come home this week. I am worried that he may still be contagious. I have MS and am scared of what could happen if I catch this virus. He has not had a fever for two days and is feeling a little better. Is there any reason why I should be worried that I could catch it 8 days after his symptoms started? Thank you.
