My Husband Is Approaching Two Weeks Of An Onset Pain/discomfort

My husband is approaching two weeks of an onset pain/discomfort on the left side of his body (torso). A week ago he visited the Doctor and doctor said he felt it was too high for kidney stone. This dr. suggested a CT scan but my husband is a little stubborn and hasn't got one yet. I talked him into going to chiropractor in which they did X-ray. X-ray revealed no abnormalities with ribs but did show a lot of inflammation and air pockets. I have noticed that skin around his eyes he is looking a little dark. He has been more tired than usual. Could this be a kidney stone or something else?
