My Husband Is Complaining Of A Persistent Smell He Smells

My husband is complaining of a persistent smell he smells everywhere. It's not him or anything introduced recently into our environment. He says he smells the same smell in the house, outside walking the dog and in the car. He says it is a particular smell, but he cannot identify it.
