My Husband Is Diabetic And Just Starting To Take Met

My husband is diabetic and just starting to take Met Formin. However, he has high cholesterol and the good Doc prescribed Simvastatin. The last time he took the Simastatin his blood sugar spiked really high! Over 200! The Doc keeps arguing that the Simvastatin is not going to raise his blood sugar! Are there any Cholesterol lowering meds that don't raise blood sugar levels??? Thanks!
