My Husband Is Experiencing Continuous RLS - 3 Days Now

My husband is experiencing continuous RLS - 3 days now with no sleep and no relief. He is currently taking 3 mg of Requip - has been on it for several months - but now there is no relief. His doctor has prescribed a sleep study but not for 3 more weeks. He was given sleep medicine but still cant sleep because of the constant twitching. What else can he do for some relief? He is 72 years old and no other health issues -he is not diabetic and is usually very active. He reports never having been under this much distress. His iron level is normal.
