My Husband Is Lactose Intolerant And Has Been Taking Lactase

My husband is lactose intolerant and has been taking Lactase every day which has been effective in relieving diarrhea. However, recently he's has a recurrence of symptoms. Has the once-a-day dose become ineffective? Should he take more?
