My Husband Is Now Being Referred To Add Oxaliplatin To

My husband is now being referred to add Oxaliplatin to his chemo treatment. The doctor states that
it will be given intravenously for an hour at the hospital site and then he will go home and be treated with
fluorouracil and irinotecan for 46 hours for home infusion. My question is about the cold. The doctor
stated he would have to wear mittens to go into the refrigerator and the nurse stated he also cannot
drink any cold liquids for 5 days. I am afraid that if he also goes out into the cold weather he will get sick.
He also suffers from COPD. Please help me.
