My Husband Is Post Op 5 Weeks After Abductor Graft

My husband is post op 5 weeks after abductor graft operation 7 months since Hip op went horribly wrong. Developed infection scar base ten days ago put on antibiotics yesterday. I cleaned wound tonight and pulled out of a deep hole sutures encapsulated. They were the size of my little finger nail. Is this normal? He did have 26 clips removed ten days after op.
