My Husband Is Taking 7.5-325mg Of Percocet After Having Foot

My husband is taking 7.5-325mg of percocet after having foot surgery at 9am Thurs. morning, 2/25/16. He is having constipation issues but the headache is more of a problem. He has vicodin that he takes occasionally for migraines - can he switch to vicodin and if so, how long after his last percocet, can he take it?
