My Husband Just Experienced The Veins In His Left Hand

My husband just experienced the veins in his left hand bulging suddenly, and he says that it felt like it was burning. When he raised his hand over his head for a short while, the symptoms disappeared. This happened twice this afternoon, and never before. He had emergency quadruple by-pass surgery in 2007 as a result of a heart attack. He's taking Crestor. Would the bulging veins be related to his heart?
