My Husband Just Noticed A Small Lump Or Node In

My husband just noticed a small lump or node in the web of his hands between thumb and index finger. It doesn't really hurt . It's hard and moves around. He plays guitar and the neck of the guitar rests in the same spot. Any ideas on what it is? Treatment? Just popped up.
