My Husband Scratched A Mole On His Back A Couple

My husband scratched a mole on his back a couple of weeks ago. It bled from the scratch but healed fine and looked normal. He just scratched the same mole again pretty badly today, and now the mole is darker and has a weird ring around it that almost looks like a blood blister. Both times he actually scratched the mole. We are going to make a doctor's appointment, just a little concerned by the look of it right now.
