My Husband Suddenly Discovered That He Has Large Swollen Looking

My husband suddenly discovered that he has large swollen looking areas on his feet along the outside of his feet . The swelling is at the base of his little toe and is about an inch long and protrudes out about 3/4". It is soft and there is no pain when he touches it. He is fearing out. He is 62.
